Angels Among Us

We spend our lives just wishing time away.
Always looking forward to a different day.
We don’t see the beauty all around.
The love we have. The here and now.
We give up all that is for what we hope will be.
We relive the past and look ahead,
Seeing all that’s not and not what is.
Is that the way to build the life you want to lead?

And we pray to find the light.
And we say , “Show us day from night.”
And we pray for light.

As the children leave the classroom seats in May,
The shouts of joy ring out. It’s time to play.
But there’s one small boy with sad brown eyes
In the second row, he nearly cries.
He’s afraid of what’s at home once summer’s here.
And the children tease and taunt the child.
“What’s wrong with you?” the others cry.
They’ve never felt the bruises or the fear.

And we pray to find the light.
And we say , “Show us day from night.”
And we pray for light.

But there are angels among us, just passing through.
Angels among us, prayers coming true.
Angels among us, and it might be you.
So open your eyes, you might be surprised.
There are angels among us and it might be you.

On the evening news we see the fires spread.
And we pray to God to heal the world instead.
And the storms are raging all around.
The fires burn, the waters drown,
And we hurt and fear with every breath we take.
And we look up at the sky above,
the earth below, the ones we love.
And we pray someone will come and save the day.

But there are angels among us, just passing through.
Angels among us, prayers coming true.
Angels among us, and it might be you.
So open your eyes, you might be surprised.
There are angels among us and it might be you.

Are you the little boy with sad brown eyes,
The dreamer looking to the skies,
The one who prays for love and light and peace?
Is it you that you’ve been waiting for–
A loving heart, an open door,
An angel in disguise  upon the street.

But there are angels among us, just passing through.
Angels among us, prayers coming true.
Angels among us, and it might be you.
So open your eyes, you might be surprised.
There are angels among us and it might be you.
Cause there are angels among us…

So open your eyes. You might be surprised.
There are angels among us. Angles among us.
There are angels among us and it might be you.
I see you. I see you.

Crossing Jordan

Spoken:
Your journey has been long.
And though you feel weary, there is but another step to take.
Release your judgment at the water’s edge,
for how you got there matters not,
nor anything that came before.
It’s what you know in the moment.
Let go your weariness and rejoice,
for you have arrived.
It is done. It is done.

Sung:
In the midst of darkness,
it’s time to believe,
to remember light,
to live in the dream.
How you come matters not.
One step is all you need.
So release your fears
and wade into the water
Knowing by Love’s grace that you’ll be safe.

A new day is coming.

There will be peace.
There will be love.
There will be moonlight
and stars above.
Nothing to hold us back.
There’s only Love,
crossing Jordan.

There will be peace.
There will be love.
There will be moonlight
and stars above.
Nothing to hold us back.
There’s only Love,
crossing Jordan.

Dare to Shine

When you’re coming to
a crossroads in your life,
and you find the path
you know you want inside,
but you’re scared to lead
with just your heart
and your head puts up a fight,
now’s the time for you
to choose to shine your light.

You are love.
Shine your light. Set it free.
There is more to you than meets the eye.
There’s more than they can see.
So let’s God’s voice fill your head
and clear your mind.
You are light.
Know your truth and let it shine.
Dare to shine.

And as you travel on
this long and winding road
praying for a helping hand
to ease your heavy load;
and you’re feeling like
you can’t go on,
but the answer seems it’s “No”,
now’s the time for you
to trust and just let go.

You are love.
Shine your light. Set it free.
You are more than just your circumstance.
You’re more than you can see.
So let’s God’s voice fill your head
and clear your mind.
You are light.
Know your truth and let it shine.
Dare to shine.

God is Love. You are Love.
God is Light. You are Light.
God is Hope. You are Hope.
So let your life burn bright.

And if you find yourself
not knowing what to do,
and you feel like there’s an empty void
deep inside of you.
And the darkness clouds
your heart, your mind
and you cannot see the truth.
Now’s when you must believe
that Love will see you through.

You are love.
Shine your light. Set it free.
Let grace and power lift you up
to all that you can be.
And let’s God’s voice fill your head
and clear your mind.
You are light.
Know your truth and let it shine.

You are love.
Shine your light. Set it free.
A child of God in perfect form
for all the world to see.
So let’s God’s voice fill your head
and clear your mind.
You are light.
Know your truth and let it shine.
Dare to shine.

Good Life

I’m livin’ a good life
in the lap of luxury.
The river of abundance
is flowin’ right through me.

I know where I’m goin’
and I’m stayin’ right on track.
I take what life gives to me
and then I give it all right back.

And when I’m on empty,
it won’t be long until I’m full again.
It’s all here before me.
I open up my heart
and let it come right in.

I’m lookin’ at good signs (yeah)
everywhere I go.
I see the grace and beauty
in everyone I know.

I’m havin’ a good time.
I’m happy and I’m free.
I love everybody
and everybody’s lovin’ me.

And when I’m on empty,
it won’t be long until I’m full again.
And it’s all here before me.
I open up my heart
and let it come right in.

I’m livin’ a good life.
I’m havin’ a good time.
I see good signs
everywhere I go
and in everyone I know.

I’m livin’ a good life.
And I’m havin’ a good time.
Good life. Good life. Good life.
Yeah, I’m livin’ a good life.
Yeah, I’m livin’ a good life.
Yeah, it’s a good life.
And it’s time, it’s time for some good times
in my life.
It’s my life.
Cause I’m livin’ a good life.
Yeah, it’s a good life.

Greater Things

With your power and your grace.
Spirit help me find my faith.
Love and mercy, law and might.
Show me how to be a light.
Remind me I Am more than what I see.
Help me remember what I came here to be.

I Am God. I Am Spirit. I Am holy. I Am worthy.
Holy God, gentle Spirit, inside me remind…
Greater things.

Wandering in the desert sand.
Praying for the promised land.
Forgetting All that I come from
And in all there’s only One.
I cry out for an answer to my prayer.
And yet I doubt the Truth that echoes there.

I Am God. I Am Spirit. I Am holy. I Am worthy.
Holy God, gentle Spirit, inside me remind…
Greater things.

So it’s written from ages old
In the Word the story is told.
Greater things than this will you do
The father gives the Kingdom unto you

Miracles are everywhere
The desert rain, the earth & air.
When I’m feeling cold and numb,
All I need’s the warmth of the sun.
I hear the Voice of Truth speaking to me.
Will I stop to listen and can I believe?

I Am God. I Am Spirit. I Am holy. I Am worthy.
Holy God, gentle Spirit, inside me remind…

I Am all that Spirit breathes.
I Am more than anyone can see.
When I’m faced with doubt and fear
Remind me God that you are here, and

I Am God. I Am Spirit. I Am holy. I Am worthy.
Holy God, gentle Spirit, inside me remind…
I Am God. I Am Spirit. I Am holy. I Am worthy.
Holy God, gentle Spirit, inside me remind…
Greater things.  Greater Things.  Greater Things.

I Am

When I’m full of doubt,
not trusting myself.
When I’m searching for the answers,
and I feel overwhelmed.

Give me the strength.
Help me to love me.
Cause I know the power’s inside.
Give me the strength,
angels above me, help me remember.

I am love. I am light. I am worthy.
I am free in my life to shine.
I am love. I am light. I am worthy.
I am.

When I’m full of doubt,
not trusting myself.
When I’m searching for the answers,
and I feel overwhelmed.

Give me the strength.
Help me to love me.
Cause I know the power’s inside.
Give me the strength,
angels above me, help me remember.

I am love. I am light. I am worthy.
I am free in my life to shine.
I am love. I am light. I am worthy.
I am.

And the gifts She gave to me
are mine alone
to share with all mankind
in love, for love.

Give me the strength.
Help me to love me.
Cause I know the power’s inside.
Give me the strength,
angels above me, help me remember.

Give me the strength.
Help me to love me.
Cause I know the power’s inside.
Give me the strength,
angels above me, help me remember.

I am love. I am light. I am worthy.
I am free in my life to shine.
I am love. I am light. I am worthy.
I am free in my life to shine.
I am love. I am light. I am worthy.
I am. I am.
I am.

I Could Be More

She was fire and he was ice.
Life was far from paradise
but they made a living working on the land.
The earth was hard and the sun was hot,
But even though they sometimes fought
As the sun would set he’d always hold her hand.

And everything was right with the world.
He knew she would always be his girl.

If I could be more like them, I’d know how to love.
If I could be more like them, I’d feel the sun above.
So when life starts to look like rain, with only work and never gain
Help me remember I could be more like them.

In later years, she lost her mind.
Her husband never questioned why–
Stood by her side through every night and day.
And when she died, he fell apart.
She lost her life and he lost his heart
Even though he knew she couldn’t stay.

But you can’t kill a love that strong.
It doesn’t die. It just passes on.

If I could be more like them, I’d know how to love.
If I could be more like them, I’d feel the sun above.
So when life starts to feel like rain, with only hurt and pain
Help me remember I could be more like them.

If there was just one thing I could say.
I’d tell them now how I feel today.
And I’d say…

If I could be more like you, I’d know how to love.
If I could be more like you, I’d feel the sun above.
So when life starts to look like rain, with only work and never gain
Help me remember I could be more like you.

If I could be more like you, I’d know how to love.
If I could be more like you, I’d feel the sun above.
So when life starts to look like rain, with only hurt and pain
Help me remember. Help me remember  I could be more like you.
Help me remember… I could be more.

She was fire and he was ice.
They made their living working on the land.

Love Knows the Way

In the morning paper, I see the wars
and all the people settling scores.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Our brave men die on battlefields
never knowing what is real.
Just doing what their orders say.

We trust our lives to lying hands
not knowing how to change the plan.
When will we turn and make a stand
across the world? Heal the dying man.
Let’s start at home, where you and I can.

Learn how to see. Learn how to love.
Learn how to be as in heaven above.
Learn how to learn to live and let live.
Learn to believe and learn to forgive.

Because we’re all one now.
Though they don’t show it on TV,
I know it’s happening somehow.
Come on, shout it out,
“Fear not my friend. It’s love in the end
that’s gonna make a difference right now!”

There’s no difference in color or creed,
religion, race or ethnic seed.
We’re all just flesh and blood underneath.
Men and women, children too
living, breathing, making do.
We forget no star is out of reach.

We hear the call, but walk on by.
We don’t believe that you and I
can make a difference. So why even try?
But I know love,
love is standing by.
Don’t give up, don’t let her die.

Love knows the way.
If you look you’ll find the light in every day.
Love knows the truth.
So try to be the love in every room.
It could be you.

When the earth is calling out in pain
as oil spills from in her veins
into the waters of her seas,
her creatures die or starve to death
and dolphin’s drown in fisher’s nets;
but few are listening to her pleas.

With coal for power, the mother bleeds.
We strip her lands and cut her trees.
We take more than we ever need
all in the name of corporate greed.
Make today the day we all are freed.

Because we’re all one now.
Though they don’t show it on TV,
I know it’s happening somehow.
Come on, shout it out,
“Fear not my friend. It’s love in the end
that’s gonna make a difference right now!”

Be the change.
Let love show the way.

Move Ahead

She gets herself to church every Sunday,
Settles into the pew.
The preacher’s spinning tales
of fire and brimstone
And how God’s pushing down on you.

She seems lost, but she’s found.
Spirit’s unbound.
Out of those tired, and dusty pages
She hears a different sound
Calling “Move ahead.”
Woah-oh-oh.
Move ahead.
Oh.

Another day, another half-dollar.
It’s getting harder and harder
to be a good father.
Off to work. Off again.
Just feels like life going off the rails to him.

They say, “Seek and ye shall find,”
A love that bends the hands of time.
That’s what fills his home, fills his mind
Out here on I-85
Waiting to move ahead.

Move ahead. Move ahead into life.
Move ahead. Move into love.
Move ahead to forgiveness.
When it’s hard to believe,
and you can’t even breathe
Move ahead.

The still small voice has turned to shouting
Just fighting to be heard
Lean into where the fear grows
Lean into what you’ve learned
You’re the one you’ve been waiting for
Show us your shimmer and your shine
And when the darkness falls answer the call.
Woah-oh-oh. Woah-oh-oh.
Move ahead.
Mm-mm-mm-mm.

Move ahead. Move ahead into life.
Move ahead. Move into love.
Move ahead to forgiveness.
When it’s hard to believe,
and you can’t even breathe

Move ahead. Move ahead into life.
Move ahead. Move into love.
Move ahead to forgiveness.

Send Love

Send out your love
and find peace overflowing.
Send out your love
and find joy in your heart.
Send out your love.
for a life of abundance send love.

Lift up your voice
and sing songs of thanksgiving.
Lift up your voice
and shout, “Love’s the only one!”
Send out your love.
For a life of abundance send love.

When you’re looking in the mirror in the morning,
you gotta put a smile on your face
and love that man for all he is
because he’s perfect in every way.

And then you take that love inside your heart
And send it through the rest of your day.
And you will shine on, love up your world
Knowing that love will light your way.

Friday, you’re rushin’ and you’re hustlin’ at the office,
trying just to finish your day.
The boss comes in demanding time
when you’re trying to get on your way.

If you can clear your mind, open your heart
and listen to what she has to say,
you’ll find that life goes on more peaceful and free
when you let love light your way.

Be the love
your heart wants to see.
Blessed, blessed be.
Lift your voice.
Just set it free.
Let it, let it be.

Send out your love
and find peace overflowing.
Send out your love
and find joy in your heart.
Send out your love.
For a life of abundance send love.

(Be the love
your heart wants to see.
Blessed, blessed be.)

Lift up your voice
and sing songs of thanksgiving.
Lift up your voice
and shout, “Love’s the only one!”
Send out your love.
For a life of abundance send love.

(Lift your voice.
Just set it free.
Let it, let it be.)

Sister Child

When I come will you run
to greet me like an old friend
or a lover, which one?
Life can be full of unhappy endings,
but we’re the ones who write the stories.
We’re the ones who choose the path.
And I don’t want another gory ending
with an aftermath.
So I see you in your gown,
standing there, your face is down,
wondering if I’ll come around
and love you like I used to.

But I don’t want to see you cry anymore.
And I don’t want to say goodbye anymore,
‘Cause I love you. You know I love you.
And I don’t want to spend another day
watching you hang on every word I say,
because I love you. So, I release you.

Standing here it all seems clear.
There’s no need to throw away the love
with the hurt and tears.
We’re ever changing and so we meet this ending.
But go, my love, and know I’ll be here.
Take your time and heal your hurt.
You deserve a happy ending.
Go and make a brand new start.
And I’ll be waiting your return,
to hear the news and all you’ve learned,
and meet the one that you’ve discerned loves you
like they ought to.

‘Cause I don’t want to see you cry anymore.
And I don’t want to say goodbye anymore,
‘Cause I love you. You know I love you.
And I don’t want to spend another day
watching you hang on every word I say,
because I love you. So, I release you.
I don’t want to see you cryin’ anymore.
And I don’t want to see you dyin’ anymore,
‘Cause I love you, Sister child.
And I don’t want to spend another day
watching you hang on every word I say,
because I love you. So, I release you.

Sunrise Sunset

Sunrise, Sunset. Wonderin’ when you’ll come around.
When will I get there’s no lost until you’re found.
Sunrise, Sunset. Wanderlust and vagabond.
Needs go unmet making war until the dawn.

When will you begin to find the one inside
whose crying out for Love.
You fight into the night with bombs and guns,
no love or light in sight.

And still you say you save the day,
for this I pray. For this…
Sunrise, Sunset. Wonderin’ when I’ll come around.
When will you get I can’t stop when you’re around.

Sunrise, Sunset. Knowin’ that you’re moving on.
Not like we met, making love until the dawn.
When will I begin to find the one inside
whose willing to be free.

To see that things are not the way they were,
the way they used to be.
To be released and loved away,
For this you pray. For this…

Sunrise, Sunset. Sunrise, Sunset. Sunrise, Sunset.
We pray. We pray. We pray. We pray.
